New title sponsor: Rossi’s Mooney VR46 Racing Team

The millions hoped for by Tanal Entertainment never arrived in Tavullia, but Valentino Rossi’s racing team is now presenting a new title sponsor for the teams in the MotoGP and Moto2 World Championships.

In August there was talk of $ 18 million that Tanal Entertainment Sport & Media was supposed to transfer to VR46. At the same time, however, it was already becoming apparent that the Aramco sponsorship that had been announced for months would remain a fairy tale from 1001 nights.

During the test drives in Jerez on November 18 and 19, the first official appointment of the newly formed Rossi team in the MotoGP World Championship, the team led by Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi appeared as the “VR46 Racing Team” without a title sponsor.

On Thursday, VR46 finally presented “Mooney” as the new namesake and main sponsor. Accordingly, the team will be officially called “Mooney VR46 Racing Team” in the MotoGP and Moto2 World Championships. This will also be reflected on the motorcycles and the riders’ leather suits, the brief announcement said. Further information on the agreement will be published next Monday, January 3rd.

Mooney is a Proximity Banking & Payments provider, which it claims is the largest in Italy. The company, founded in 2020 and offering a range of payment services (for telephone and electricity bills, prepaid cards, transfers, etc.) is backed by SisalPay and Banca 5 from the Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo.
