Maverick Viñales will return to the handlebars of the Aprilia this weekend in Misano after not being able to compete in the GP of the Americas for personal reasons.
The Spanish corridor traveled to the United States a few days before the Grand Prix of the Americas, but emotionally affected by the recent death of his cousin Dean Berta Viñales during a race in Jerez, Maverick he found himself unable to cope with the Austin weekend, returning home.
Three weeks later, the new Aprilia racer will reappear in the Grand Prix of the Emilia Romagna, which takes place on a circuit that brings you good feelings.
“Running again in Misano is special for me. This is where I tried the RS-GP for the first time and started my relationship with Aprilia, ”explains the Spaniard.
Viñales broke away from Yamaha prematurely and stormy last summer, and at the end of August he did a test for his first contact with the Aprilia, which made him debut at the Aragon Grand Prix on 12 September, finishing 18th.
A week later, Maverick He faced his second race with Aprilia at the San Marino Grand Prix, where he finished 13th improving his sensations. Now, after skipping the Austin race, the Catalan will once again have a new opportunity in Misano.
“The temperatures will be lower than in the first round on this track, a factor that I want to take advantage of because it will allow me to use a softer tire compound at the front,” argues the rider.

In addition to Viñales and Aleix Espargaró, the title drivers, Aprilia will present a third RS-GP this weekend with the test driver Lorenzo Savadori, who precisely had to give up his seat to Maverick.
