Former Legion of Boom star Richard Sherman wants a comeback.
Richard Sherman (CB) is struggling to find his way back to the pitch. Free-agent since the end of the season, the 33-year-old cornerback would like to offer a comeback.
For him it is not his abilities as a player that are called into question, but his legal disputes as he explains to USA Today.
“I’ve got a decade worth of resume that should stand more firmly than a momentary lapse in judgment,” Sherman said (h/t Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk).
“I’ve got a decade of character and tape to be judged off of. If you’re judging me off of a momentary lapse, I’m probably not the player for you either way.”
Prosecuted for 5 counts including driving under the influence of drugs and breaking and entering with elements of domestic violence after an incident with his in-laws, Sherman admits that this case will not be closed by the end of the season. A brake for teams like the Buccaneers or the 49ers who had shown interest.
In his last season with San Francisco he combined 18 tackles and 1 interception in 5 games.
