Nvidia employee confirms possible existence of chip for Switch 2

A leaked comment from an Nvidia employee may indicate the existence of a new mobile chip that will be used in the successor to the Nintendo Switch.

The employee’s internal message was shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. It mentions the existence of the Tegra239 chip. Last year, prominent Nvidia nice kopite7kimi already claimed that this chip would come in the Switch 2. Current Switch models run on the Tegra214 chip.

Earlier, possible other details about the successor to the Switch leaked out. For example, the GPU would be based on Ampere, the same architecture as that from Nvidia’s RTX 30 cards. That would mean that both ray tracing and DLSS 2.2 are possible.

Anyway, nothing is officially known about a possible successor to the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has so far announced all kinds of games for the current Switch that will be released this year and next, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Bayonetta 3 and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
