Preload for upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta available

People can preload the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta weekend right now. The beta is already available for some players.

That way, fans can get started right away when the beta goes live. The beta was already held exclusively on PlayStation consoles last weekend, but the second beta will also be available on Xbox and PC.

The beta starts today for people who have already pre-ordered the game and all PlayStation players. From September 24 to 26, everyone can get started with the beta. Xbox gamers do need Xbox Live Gold, but PS Plus is not required on PlayStation.

Infinity Ward also announced that some changes will be made in this second weekend compared to last week. For example, various bugs will be solved and the company will experiment with indicating more clearly which players are on the player’s team, and which are not. Furthermore, the speed at which perks are unlocked must be adjusted during a match until Infinity Ward finds the right ebalas.

During the first beta weekend, there were complaints from players about the mini-radar not showing dots of players firing – unless a UAV is active. Infinity Ward says it wants to keep it that way, because they don’t want to punish players who shoot. The company does say that it will continue to collect feedback about this element.

This second beta period may also include new maps and modes, but no details are known at the time of writing.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be released on November 16.
