Resident Evil Village DLC Completes Winters Family Story

The Resident Evil Village expansion Winters’ Expansion should complete the story surrounding the Winters family.

Director Kento Kinoshita has reported this to IGN Japan. According to him, Capcom is creating the expansion “to bring the Winters family story to a conclusion”.

Ethan, Mia and Rose Winters are characters in Village. Ethan was also the main character of Resident Evil 7. The Winters’ Expansion features a new narrative segment called Shadows of Rose, which takes place sixteen years after the main game and revolves around daughter Rose. Furthermore, the Mercenaries Mode in the form of Additional Orders is also added. In it, players can control Lady Dimitrescu, among others.

So it looks like the Winters family won’t be returning in the ninth main installment of Resident Evil, which hasn’t been announced yet. Capcom is working on a remake of Resident Evil 4 that will be released next year.

The Winters’ Expansion will be available on October 28. The Gold Edition of Resident Evil Village will also be released on the same day, containing the base game and the expansion, as well as multiplayer game Resident Evil: Verse. Resident Evil Village is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Steam, and Google Stadia. The game will also be released on Switch via the cloud on October 28.
