Apex Legends and Titanfall developer Respawn speaks out in a tweet against harassment from game developers.
The studio says it will release a statement because harassment and intimidation of its employees is becoming more common. According to Respawn, feedback on its products is welcome, but the developer would like to emphasize that the line between feedback and intimidating the development team should not be crossed.
“We want to remind our players that we have a zero-tolerance policy for threats and harassing our developers. We will take appropriate actions to ensure the safety and health of our team,” the statement read.
“We love to receive feedback and will continue to work with our community to maintain a respectful, collaborative environment and maintain the competitive integrity of our game,” Respawn concluded in its statement.
Developer Bungie expresses its solidarity with Respawn’s statement, saying that “everyone must work together against toxicity and harassment.” Earlier this year, God of War director Cory Barlog also released a similar statement. He received support from Xbox head Phil Spencer, among others.
