Splatoon 3 has sold over 3.45 million copies in Japan in three days

Splatoon 3 has sold more than 3.45 million copies in Japan in its first three days since release.

Nintendo announced that. It concerns physical and digital copies added together. Never before has a Switch game sold so many times in the company’s home country in the first three days. No sales figures for the game from other regions have been announced yet.

Splatoon 3 has been available worldwide since last Friday. In the Splatoon games, Inklings and Octolings compete against each other in target shooting. Instead of bullets, the teams shoot with paint. For example, the goal could be to paint arenas in the team’s color as much as possible. Like Splatoon 2, Splatoon 3 has a single player campaign. This one is called ‘The Return of the Mammalians’. The game takes place in the new locations of Splatsville and Splatlands. The Salmon Run co-op has also returned.

The game scored an 8 on Gamer.nl: “Splatoon 3 is an excellent sequel that mainly picks up on the best aspects of parts one and two. Everything works just that little bit more logically and runs as you would expect, from the signature gameplay to the menus. Other than a more extensive, fun single-player campaign, you don’t have to count on much news.”
