Annabel Croft, tennis analyst at Amazon Prime Sport, loves interviewing world number 1 Novak Djokovic because she finds the Serbian extremely intellectual and interesting when it comes to chatting with him.
Croft, who has worked with Eurosport for years in Grand Slam tournaments, has questioned Djokovic on several occasions. “All three of them are amazing individuals, but when I interview Djokovic I find him so interesting,” Croft told Tennis365.
“He’s so intellectual, his fluency in the English language is so impressive, and you can see he’s thirsty for information. He goes the extra mile to find information about his heart, lungs, food intake, sleeping habits….
he is the professional athlete par excellence. I can’t say enough about him (there’s so much to say), and it saddens me that he doesn’t get all the support he deserves.
Nobody is going to give up their love for Federer and Nadal, but maybe when they hang up their rackets people will appreciate more what he (Djokovic) has done in the sport, “said Annabel Croft.
Djokovic prepares for the 2021 US Open
Novak Djokovic has had a huge year, winning each of the first three Grand Slam tournaments of the season. Djokovic is now aiming to win the 2021 US Open and thus achieve the calendar Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
2013 Wimbledon champion Bartoli believes Djokovic is sure to pull off the feat at Flushing Meadows. “I wouldn’t understand if we didn’t put him among the big favorites,” Batolid told Tennis Majors.
“For me, he’s the big favorite. It’s a little easier (for him): he has a day off between each game, he has time to think about each victory, he has time to rest before the next game.
I think the Grand Slam (format) definitely works in favor of Novak Djokovic. He will try to win a 21st Grand Slam title and will be the first to reach this level. I think his motivation will be at its peak and that he has the game it takes to win on hard, he has proven it time and time again. Honestly, I don’t see him failing at the US Open. “
