Ubisoft: ‘Assassin’s Creed Mirage does not contain loot boxes or gambling’

Recently recent rumors there will be no loot boxes in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Also, people can’t really gamble in the game.

A Ubisoft spokesperson reported this to Eurogamer following a recent ESRB age rating. Mirage’s reveal trailer showed a rating of “AO” in the United States, or “Adults Only” – for adults only. The reason for the rating, according to ESRB, was that players could gamble in the game.

According to Ubisoft’s spokesperson, it is an error. “While Mirage’s age rating has yet to be given, Ubisoft wants players to reassure them. There are no loot boxes or real gambling in the game.”

ESRB has since updated the trailer – now reporting ‘RP’, or Rate Pending.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set in Baghdad and begins during the city’s golden age in the year 861. Players take on the role of Basim Ibn Ishaq, known from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, set twenty years after Mirage. The game will be released in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
