Valve Announces Artifact: The Dota Card Game

Valve has announced the collectible card game Artifact: The Dota Card Game.

The company did that during The International, the championships of Dota 2. The card game is therefore based on the world of Dota 2. Valve did not give many details. What is clear is that there are three signs and that barrack buildings can be built. Furthermore, only the teaser trailer below has been released.

The former Double Fine developer Brad Muir (from Iron Brigade and Massive Chalice, among others) also appears to be working on the game, according to Twitter.

Digital card games are very popular these days. There are Blizzard’s Hearthstone, Gwent, which is based on the card game from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Elder Scrolls Legends.

The artifact should be released sometime in 2018.
